Quality of Life Partnership
The Partnership was established in 2005 to enable older people and agencies to work together to improve the quality of life of older people in Newcastle.
At the centre of the Partnership are the voices and experiences of older people. The Elders Council of Newcastle is leading on supporting older people across the city to raise issues, tell their stories and put forward ideas.
If you would like more information on the strategy, or would like to find out more about the Quality of Life Partnership, please contact Barbara Douglas using the details below.

Who We Are
The Quality of Life Partnership is responding to the challenges of an ageing population by bringing older people and agencies together to find ways of meeting the needs and aspirations of older people. People aged 50+ make up a third of the population of Newcastle (83,000). Within this cohort of people there is great diversity of experience, health, wealth and expectation.
We have recently developed .....
information NOW
‘Information, information, information’ is what older people have told us they need to enable them to stay involved, live healthy lives and access the services they require. We have responded by developing this website, which presents information from the perspective of an older person, family member or carer.
We appreciate that not every older person can easily access the internet, so we are also working closely with services to make sure that staff who are in contact with older people can support them to find the information they need.
Newcastle Trades Register
We often hear older people crying out for good and reliable tradespeople. We are delighted to be able to promote the Newcastle Trades Register, which gives older people access to suitable tradespeople who have been through a checking and vetting process.
