Who We Are
Carers Centre Newcastle is a citywide organisation that supports carers in Newcastle. A carer is someone who provides help and support to a relative, friend, partner, child or neighbour who has disability, a physical or mental illness, is frail, or has alcohol or drug related problems.
We can provide a service to carers if they, or the person they care for, lives in Newcastle.
A young carer is a child or young person under the age of 18 carrying out significant caring tasks and assuming a level of responsibility for another person, which would normally be taken by an adult.
What we can provide:
- information
- carers groups
- activities
- events
- one-to-one sessions with expert helpers including counsellors, welfare rights advisers and relaxation therapists.
Upon referral to the Carers Centre we would conduct an initiatl assessment based upon the indivdual and their circumstances. If necessary we would refer a carer to another organisation who deliver specialist and more appropriate services.
If you are a carer you can contact us directly and speak to anyone in the team. We are here to help you so please contact us at the centre
